"To photograph is to hold one's breath, when all faculties converge to capture fleeting reality. It's at that precise moment that mastering an image becomes a great physical and intellectual joy."
---Henry Cartier-Bresson
There is something very life affirming about the art of photography. It's inspiring. I find it interesting that inspiration comes from the root word "inspire"... which literally means... "to breathe in..."
When I take photographs... it is my goal to inspire someone...
to allow them the opportunity to "breathe in" life as I saw it the moment I pressed the shutter...
About the photos for today's post: I had to go to Coronado Mall to get a pair of shoes. I hate shopping. Especially when I know I am going to have to spend a sizable amount of money (I get Birkenstock sandals about once every 10 yrs... and I was due). Anyway... After buying the shoes... and having my feet sigh in relief... I noticed that there was an art installation in the front hallway... and there before me were tons of paper butterflies floating about in the blue sunshine of the skylights...
