I have hardly been online these past few days…. and got swamped with an avalanche of notices when I logged on today. Eeps! That said…. I am really trying to calm down, rest more, heal,…. and do a few things that have been on my “to-do” list. Please be patient with me…. I am trying to get it together <3

One of the recent purchases since moving here, is a small portable grow light for our succulent plants. They seem to really appreciate the light…. and I like the color.

I have the feeling this is going to be a fairly busy week…. but for today… I am resting. And, the son bought some “cotton candy” grapes today at the store. Shockingly, they tastes JUST like cotton candy. See more about them here. Bottom photo…. a pair of earrings I listed on my Etsy page today; and they have already sold :)

#ThrowbackThursday

This is a photo from a couple years ago… in the woods of PA. … but edited today. Today I celebrated the getting done of some stressful paperwork, by going out to dinner with Jim to the Silver Diner. This has quickly become our “go to” place. And now, I am home, watching TV, and snuggling with the pup.

AND…. for the bottom photo: I received a bunch of handmade, glass beads in the mail today. They were made by an amazing artist in Moscow, Russia. I am very excited to begin working on some creations incorporating them.

… and a happy snap stolen from Jim, who is coming back home late last night from Colorado. Edited by me.

But… the house is clean. The plants and pup are taken care of. I’ve gathered garbage, and cleaned out the fridge. I shredded a ton of papers. I sorted about 2000+ photos out of my downloads folder on the laptop, and put them into monthly folders.. I sorted my business taxes. I ordered glasses ! (it’s only taken me 2 years with a script to order them. Probably 8yrs since I had a new pair with the proper prescription). >>sigh<< But I am getting there.

Afraid I didn’t make my goal of reading all 5 books on my nightstand this week… but I did finish 2 full books and most of a 3rd. Will try to get more read this week (see photo at the bottom of post to see what is now on my nightstand). AND…. enjoying some leftover chicken roast for dinner… see the middle photo.

And the main/ top photo? I am studying about crystals today. These are ones I picked up spontaneously, and discovered that they really all work together:

““Highly spiritual and sought after for its metaphysical properties, Danburite is a powerful Heart Chakra stone, relieving emotional pain and increasing acceptance of one's self and of others. Danburite will help you to “let your light shine". The pure love energy of Danburite brings serenity and peace.

Rose Quartz fosters empathy, reconciliation, and forgiveness of others. Lowering stress and tension in the heart, Rose Quartz clears out anger, jealousy, and resentment of others, and allows healing of heart issues and dis-ease associated with holding on to such negative emotions.

Clear Quartz is known as the stone of power and amplifies any energy or intention. Clear Quartz protects against negativity, attunes to your higher self, and relieves pain.

Turquoise balances and aligns all the chakras, stabilizing mood swings and instilling inner calm. It is excellent for depression and exhaustion, it also has the power to prevent panic attacks. Turquoise promotes self-realization and assists creative problem solving.

Larimar is said to enlighten and heal in a physical, emotional, mental and spiritual way. It stimulates the heart, throat, third eye and crown chakras facilitating inner wisdom and outer manifestation. It represents peace and clarity, radiating healing and love energy.

Tourmaline is believed to promote inspiration and happiness, reduce fear, and build self-confidence among its users. It's also used to balance yin-yang energies, as it's considered a physical bridge to the spiritual. ““

Even here in the middle of an apartment complex…. in a city… one can find majikal herbs if one looks. See more about Juniper HERE

And in the meantime, I am still wading through that short stack of books for the week (2 down, 3 to go). And, I’ve (sadly) finished the entire series of VERA (9 seasons, with hopefully season 10 coming next year). Not sure what I will watch now… but am looking into options.

Sort of a "throwback Thursday"... this is an older photo from PA that I edited today. This is one of the old “Brandish” family barns. For years, this family ran a century old apple orchard/ farm.. and would sell cider in the fall to locals. It was amazing cider.

Even here in the city, there are woodland-like areas. Went for a walk with ZeeZe, and had a fabulous late breakfast/ early lunch of Basmati rice, cheap steak that I seasoned & marinated in green chile peppers and lots of herbs, and a side of fresh tomatoes. (see photo below).

Hard to believe we are almost a week into November already. And I feel like, to a certain extent, I have been “nesting” for winter. Today I did some cooking…. and channeled my Grandmother Appleby with a plate of Corned beef hash, dippy eggs, and a cuppa coffee….

It’s been a quiet day… and one of reflection.

I have come to realize that I have an awful lot of books for our small-ish space. TONS of which I haven’t read yet. So . I am challenging myself to go through a small stack of books a week in the hopes of whittling things down a bit.

In the photo collage below, the (left) stack shows the books on my nightstand for this coming week. The (right) stack shows the books I have finished up these past few days.
