Today I am working in the studio a bit... thinking of ways to use up some older supplies... or if I want to sell some my stash off. Years ago (2008-2010), a goodly portion of my jewelry items incorporated found items, recycled items, random bits I found at yard sales and such. So, for example, I had earrings that featured Barbie shoes, bracelets that had game pieces on them... that sort of thing.
I also did quite a bit of mixed media art, collage, mini shrines in Altoid tins... all showcasing odd things that somehow all worked together.

This past year, I've been itching to get back into collage and more mixed media work... as well as maybe trying some printmaking or watercolor painting. I think it's time. Time to clear out a bit... time to concentrate on creating more work.

A friend of mine asked me the other day about this very thing... and I dug through and found some photos of one of my old art pieces (shown below). It is "housed" in an old cigar box, with scrabble tile pieces, monopoly bag, plastic man, and a bingo piece... as well as beads and paper ephemera.

Now, this doesn't mean I'm giving up on making gemstone jewelry or working on my photography. Far from it. I just think it's time to work on some other things as well.
See you all tomorrow...
