The nice thing about living in an apartment, is that it takes me only minutes to clean the entire place. When we lived in the house, because it was a small home (right around 1000 square feet) … it was easy as well. But it was an older home, so things took a bit longer sometimes. Because this is a relatively new apartment, things seems to go more smoothly. That said… somehow I broke the garbage disposal, so they are fixing it today.
I don’t talk much about politics on my blog… not sure why. I’ve always saved it for my facebook page. But I grew up in a very Republican household and area; and where we were living the past several years was an extremely pro-Trump area. I am not pro-Trump. In fact, I abhor him and his cabinet, and am completely bewildered by those who support him. I feel he is akin to the anti-christ. And yes, I am serious. In short, I am very pro-love (LGBTTQQIAAP ally). I believe we should be saving the ecology, not making it worse by the raping of the land and polluting of the air and water. I think Immigrants are what made this country a good place (diversity is good)… and we should be embracing that, instead of locking people in cages. I feel we owe a great debt to the Native Americans, and many others that we’ve done injustice to over the centuries, and it’s about time we got our act together. It’s a small world (not to quote Disney)… and we must learn to protect what few resources we have left. We have a very broken system here in the US… and we have to do some major changes. People can’t afford to eat, to live, to thrive. Housing and medication are impossible for so many. People can’t earn a living wage, let alone have the time and energy to be productive and improve on things.
I get overwhelmed by it all. There is so much that needs to be done. So many folks are hurting, so many causes need our attention…. I do what I can.. and am constantly afraid that it is not enough. I am, however, very proud of my son and daughter, who have both become very socially/ politically active and are out there kicking it. I take joy where I can…. and things like this sign (seen in a downtown cafe) are encouraging.
