I wish I could tell you what all happened this week….. but damned if I know.
The apartment has been supremely restful this week…. and I think, in hindsight, that I should have gotten a TON of things done… but alas. All I can say is that I watched TV, I read books…. I sat on my tiny balcony and watched things grow. I ate good food, that I enjoyed making.
Our son has been away this week, on a sort of vacation…. and it’s been odd having an ‘empty nest’ … but also…. wonderful. Obviously, I love our kids…. but I also have greatly basked in the comfort of it just being Jim and I here.
And… as of Friday, Jim received his first Covid shot. I have despaired, as it seems that almost everyone I know online has gotten their first shot, and most have even gotten both of them…. and here I am on the waiting list from hell. I can only surmise that the Alexandria area hasn’t gotten enough vaccines to meet the demand, and that things are bogged down. I am impatient. But I will survive. At this point, a few more weeks, won’t kill me. I have been home (essentially) since March 1st last year…. having gone out only to the dentist, the grocery, the post office…. and a couple times to Barnes and Noble. I do not ‘live in fear’… but I’m not going to tempt the gods either… especially with my lack of immune system.
Time moves on… and things are sprouting forth like crazy. It seems as if trees, bushes, and all plant life have suddenly burst open and exploded with life. Photos in the collage below are from my ongoing photo a day project…. from this past week.
Hope you all enjoy the remainder of your weekend… and Happy Easter!
