sorry I missed posting yesterday.
The daughter and I went on an artist's date... and well... I just didn't get a post in.
In fact, I haven't been on-line that much these past couple of days. I've been cleaning out a bit... taking some stuff to Savers (charity donations), listing things on Freecycle.org, and I took a whole bunch of stuff to the recycling center. In general, a clearing out and releasing... which is (coincidentally) what the current Blue Moon is all about.

And so today... we are enjoying the Blue Moon in all her glory... and plan on listening to some fabulous music...
perhaps reading... perhaps watching a movie... doing some art!
... and easing into the weekend.

the sky breaks open.
in the azure blue, they sing...
melodies of fall

I can't believe the geese are already back... but they are.
Time has flown by so quickly... autumn is just around the bend.

for it's feathered friends

I got some work done in the garden this weekend, and have been making items for my Etsy store...
and all the while... trying to keep  my leg UP (for the most part).
I have also been catching up on some reading... and watching some GREAT movies on TCM.
Believe it or not, it's actually been quite difficult to stay on the couch.
I see too many things that I shoulda/ oughta be doing... funny how that works out, huh.
Any other time, I would LOVE to just sit around.
...I think I am being taught patience this week...

thoughts dance around like music
waltzing until dawn

sometimes you must sit
when you want to do something
lessons in healing

***

so. My leg wound, where I had surgery about a month ago...
spontaneously opened up and oozed a bunch of yuk.
So... I have been "encouraged" to rest more, keep my foot up;
and generally take it easy... and keep things clean and on the road to healing.
It's frustrating.
I sit... and I see so many things that I should be doing... or could be doing... or ought to be doing.
But I know I must sit.
And sit I will.

dreams of solitude

I really love photography
((this is another shot that I took on the trip to California back in February.
I've been playing around with some of the images... and this one really spoke to me.
I've spent most of my life with a camera in my hand, and I wouldn't change a thing))

see with loving eyes
focus on what makes you smile
live passionately

((the photo for today's post is one I took out in California back in February.
We had gone to visit a lake, and while wandering by the pier
I noticed that there were these gorgeous plants growing out of the dead wood posts.
Life is constantly evolving, growing, and changing ... isn't it))

I am thinking a lot of PA lately.
I am sure it's because I haven't made a trip in a couple years... and because today is my mother's 80th birthday
(Happy Birthday MOM).
We are tentatively planning on a trip back east in the next month or so... and doing a bit of traveling.
And while the idea is very exciting... I find that the past few days I have just been exhausted.
Deep down tired... to my core. Body aches... headaches... just blah.
Not sure if it is a Lupus flare (again)... or just the heat getting to me...
but I feel like I sorta need "put out to pasture"... (hence the photo).
Haven't heard from my son in a week... but I am hoping no news is good news...
and everyone else seems to be doing alright.
And so... I will take this opportunity (it's the weekend after all)...
to just laze about and do a whole lot of 'nuthin'.
.Take it easy folks.

not just for some-days
but as a way of living...
art days are the best.

calico summers
fresh, washed laundry on the line
iced tea on the porch

Growing up... it seemed like Monday's were always wash days.
We always had a clothes line... and summer days went by with lots of fresh laundry on the line...
blowing in the breeze as other chores were done. And while is seemed rather regimented to always do laundry on Monday.... I still do it to this day. Some things just stick with you.

greeting the morning in flight

sometimes it's hard.
we know where we want to go... we just don't know how to get there.
things are in the way.
life is calling.
waiting for the right time...
to leap.
to soar into the unknown.

It's hard to believe that it's August already...
and that the summer is well into it's season... and soon to be heading out.
This year has gone by really quickly.

I started a page on Facebook for my CSI inspired Haiku poems... and am very happily surprised by the response.
... it's encouraging for a newbie writer like me... and I appreciate the support.
In other news... I am working on a book that features some of my Haiku, combined with my photography...
and hope to get it published towards the end of the year.
... moving right along ...
