Had a very busy day, and some incredibly tasty food at the local Hotel Crittenden here tonight (poutine for an appetizer, and shrimp and grits for an entree). Then we were off to the hospital to get my ankle checked. Yes, I ripped everything, and tore up some old scar tissue and bone …. but no fractures! So… I have a nice boot.

so… we are making a road-trip back to PA to finish up some last details and get our home ready for sale. I absolutely love traveling… and it’s always a fun time for me. Fortunately, ZeeZe seems to love it too. And of course, Jim is doing the driving.
We had some fantastic stops along the way… and marveled at some lovely scenery. Had a tasty late lunch at a sub shop…..with a roasted chicken sub for me, and Bavarian Ham and cheese for Jim (and ham for ZeeZe as well.
Spontaneously, I asked Jim to stop so I could take a photo…. and accidentally slid on the gravel ( it was soft from all the rain and humidity is my guess)… and promptly heard a profound crack and went down. Yes, I was rolling in a ditch and crying before I knew it… and have managed to mess up my ankle. Ah…. the best laid plans ….. so we’ll see what all I can actually do at the house in the next couple of days.
But for now, we are back in our old hometown, resting on a comfy bed (with my foot up) and eating a burger and fries. …..

Taking a ‘road trip” of sorts tomorrow back up to PA to work on our house. And… of course… because I have a TON of things I should be doing to get ready, and to finish before I go…. today I spent my entire waking time reading and watching the news…. >>sigh<<<

Lupus (SLE) is a funny thing. At least in my experience, I get these waves of feeling a bit better… so I try to do lots of things that I couldn’t do when I was ‘down”… and inevitably end up doing too much…. which leads me to several days of ‘down’… which starts the cycle again. eash.
Yesterday, either because of an “up” day… or because of a manic-like episode now that I am on steroids… I did alot. I cleaned the stove/ oven, washed the kitchen floor, washed all the dishes, did laundry, & vacuumed. I gathered the trash and the recycling. I watered and fiddled with the plants on the balcony. Took care of all my on-line stuff/ mail/ blog/ IG/ etc. I made a fantastic salad for lunch today, and an amazing pot roast for dinner. I also cooked up brats with peppers/ onions/garlic etc to add to the salad for tomorrow (so I don't have to cook tomorrow)..... and of course BACON... that I can add to .. well ./ anything. I did sit back then and watch some pretty forgettable shows on TV…. and tried to sack out… but my brain kept me up til almost 4am. I woke at 10am… putzed around for a couple hours, and realizing I was just being a zombie…. went back to bed. I just woke up. yep. On the plus side….. thanks to yesterday… I really didn’t have to cook or clean today at all.

Went to the Silver Diner here for a late lunch/ early dinner— and it was truly amazing. From the fantastic decor, to the wonderful staff, to the incredible food... everything was 10/10! We will definitely be going back for more.
Afterwards, we went to Barnes & Noble for an iced mocha and some book perusing…

So yesterday we had a hell-of-a storm. It was amazing! (see the first photo).
But alas, I had to get to the clinic as my rash got markedly worse. Turns out, it is poison ivy or poison oak. Which is awesome! because I was afraid it was shingles. I am so very grateful. So… 2 weeks of calamine lotion and steroids, here I come.. gladly.
The hubby was sweet (pun intended) and treated me to KrispeeKreme donuts and coffee afterwards. I suppose if you have to have an all over body rash.. do it with donuts!
And today… I got this incredible stone in the mail. This one if for me. It is called Garnierite, and it is related to Moonstone (one of my favs). It is thought to help us create positive change in our lives.. even when goals seem hard to accomplish. It is a stone of acquisition, attraction, and prosperity, that also is thought to help promote friendships and love. It does this by stimulating the heart chakra to honor the magnificence in oneself and in others.

So yesterday, I broke out in a rash on my face. I assumed I came in contact with an allergen on Sunday sometime, but have no idea what. I took Benadryl, applied cortisone, used my inhalers, took a shower, washed the clothing and linens. Today it is worse, and is on my face, neck, torso, thighs. I have no idea. Taking more Benadryl….. in the meantime, I cannot tolerate sun. So here is a quick pic I took of the hydrangeas on my way to get the mail.

Made my way to the grocery store for the first time (by myself) and took a photo of the flowers for sale.
And (below) are a couple pieces I’ve finished and forgot to post here.
This necklace and earrings set feature gorgeous Phosphosiderite and Kunzite stones. I have selected rounds in various tones for interest, and accented them with fancy sterling silver chain, and handmade sterling silver spacer beads. The toggle clasp is abalone shell in a complimentary tone.
The necklace is about 18 1/2 inches long, and the earring dangle length is about an inch.
It's summer... and what could be more appropriate than a Cowrie shell set? This necklace features a stunning Cowrie shell focal, accented with Bronzite stone stick shaped beads & faceted rondelles, and more shell Heishi shaped beads on the ends. All the silver is sterling silver; including the handmade clasp. I have completed this set with some shell and Bronzite earrings.

Finally got a piece or two of art hung up in our new place....
It will (no doubt) take me awhile to hang it all, as I love to collect cool art from my friends and fellow artists. This found object art piece is by Bryan Welsh, and is entitled "If the past had a window."
I love how the dangly bit on the bottom creates the shadow of a bird in flight on the wall...
